This Sunday the 23rd of October at 1pm, we will be performing at this mouth watering event in the fabulous new Seamus Heaney HomePlace.
Alongside the very talented chef Emmett McCourt, who will be making a selection of tasty dishes inspired by Heaney's 'Death of a naturalist' collection, we'll be singing songs that have some connection to the area and the poetry.
Here's how the folks at Seamus Heaney HomePlace descirbe the event:
'Potatoes, milk, eggs, blackberries, turkeys, trout, buttermilk, curd: the poems in Death of a Naturalist are rich in references to food. Taking inspiration from Heaney’s debut collection, Derry chef Emmett McCourt prepares a selection of mouthwatering canapes using ingredients mentioned in the book. Introducing each new dish as it is served, McCourt situates the ingredients in the rich farming landscape of the north-west. Accompanied by The Henry Girls, singing songs of the north-west, A Naturalist’s Lunch offers a feast for all the senses and a delightfully original way of connecting with Heaney’s work.'
There are limited tickets available at this link.
Hope to see you there!
