'Tracks in The Snow' at The Ark

We have written an all new winter music show for Children, with 33 shows of it in The Ark, Dublin this December!

We are very excited to share info about our new show 'Tracks in the Snow', which was commisioned by the The Ark, Temple Bar, Dublin.

Here's what The Ark says about it....

The Ark presents The Henry Girls in a festive music show celebrating some of the things we love to do and see when the world turns white.

“Walking through Winterland, what do you see?
Walking through Winterland, what could it be?”

Follow the heavenly harmonies of The Henry Girls into an enchanting world of winter. From sparkling icicles to wolves in the forest, the joy of sledding at high speed or the wonder of the Aurora Borealis on a frosty night, discover the magic and mysteries of the festive season in a music performance made for children.

And just what did make those tracks in the snow? Find out as the band’s playful humour and trademark folk and trad melodies bring to life some of the things that we love to do and see when the world turns white.

Tracks in the Snow has been commissioned and produced by The Ark as we continue to work with artists to create high-quality live music experiences crafted especially for young audiences.

This show is an ideal opportunity to explore the Listening & Responding, Composing and Performing strand units of the Music curriculum. Attending this live music performance means children will see and hear outstanding Irish musicians performing brand new music on a range of instruments including piano, harp, voice, accordion, fiddle and double bass as well as percussion.

A free downloadable classroom pack will be available to teachers which will provide a range of accessible music activities and creative approaches connected to the theme of the show. The activities will encourage music making projects in the classroom and support imaginative music responses to the performance which are relevant to the composing and performing music curriculum strands.

Music CPD Course for Primary School Teachers
Lorna McLaughlin from The Henry Girls will be leading a CPD course called Celebrate Your Voice on Sat 21 Nov. This one day course will focus on nurturing your own vocal confidence and building ideas for delivering the Performing strand of the music curriculum as well as being relevant to Composing strand units.
